Donation FAQ's

Q: How can I be guaranteed my gift will be used as intended?

A: Sharing with her that all FWP gifts are put in a specific fund (account) at the Community Foundation, designated for that purpose only and that you all have access to all of that information and distributions coming out of the fund.

Q: Is it an added expense and costing FWP more to “hire” the Community Foundation to serve in this capacity?

a. Partnering with the Community Foundation actually reduces the initial and on-going expense and time it would take for Friends of Whitehall Park to establish, run and manage a separate 501c3.

b. Provides access to administrative services, on-line gift/credit card processing at no cost, acceptance and handling of wide range of gift types (stock, IRA), multi-state solicitation registration, legal cost savings to assure FWP complies with IRS regulations and not requirements to file federal and state tax returns.  All done through the Community Foundation’s filings.
